Bring in your staff

Staff can join in three ways. All of them lead to the same experience-scoped membership.

1. Discord whitelist. In a Discord server linked to the experience, run /whitelist @user Moderator. See Whitelisting staff in Discord.
2. Invitation link or join code. From Staff & Permissions, invite someone by email or share an eight-character join code. New users choose Join a team and enter the code. Accepting gives no permissions until someone with the right to assign roles gives them a role.
3. Directly by owners and admins, who manage everyone, including Discord-only staff, on the Staff & Permissions page.

Nobody can give a role at or above their own, so an invitation never lets someone escalate. See Roles and permissions.
