Staff documents (Google Docs)

Show Google Docs to your staff, kept up to date.

With Staff documents on, the owner connects a Google account under Connections → Google (Google's own consent screen; RoWarden asks for read-only access to Drive) and adds Google Docs by address. The text of each document is copied into RoWarden as Markdown and shown to all staff of the experience. It is refreshed every day, and you can refresh one by hand. If Google fails, the last good copy stays and the page says what went wrong.

Only the text is copied (images and comments are not). The connected Google account must be able to open the document. Removing a document removes only the copy in RoWarden.

Google is used only for this. It is not a way to sign in to RoWarden.

Hosting RoWarden yourself? Create an OAuth client in the Google Cloud console, enable the Drive API, add the redirect <your address>/api/oauth/google/callback, and set GOOGLE_OAUTH_CLIENT_ID and GOOGLE_OAUTH_CLIENT_SECRET. Google treats the read-only Drive permission as restricted, so a public app needs Google's review.
